What is a Clowder?
clow·der (n) /ˈkloudər/ - A group of cats.
“Clowder” originates from the term, “clodder.” Clodder is a Middle English term that originated in the late 1700s, and was used to describe a “clotted mass.” The term evolved over the years to the current “clowder.”
Making a Difference for Vulnerable & Helpless Cats and Kittens
At Clowder 9 Ranch, we are committed to providing a healing haven for sick cats and kittens, offering crucial medical care and ensuring they receive the attention they need to thrive.
As a small non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, our mission is to work with local cat rescues and veterinarians to provide in-foster medical and hospice care to these vulnerable animals, giving them an opportunity for a more comfortable and dignified life.
Our commitment to compassionate care extends to cats and kittens facing severe health challenges. Through our specialized programs and individualized attention, we strive to offer these animals the best possible quality of life, whether through medical treatment, hospice care, or specialized support.

Our Compassionate In-Home Approach
1. Medical Care: We can provide comprehensive in-house medical care tailored to meet the unique needs of each animal in our care. This includes access to supportive and specialty veterinary services, management and administration of medication, as well as specialized treatment plans including therapeutic and holistic treatments.
2. Hospice Care: For cats and kittens with life-limiting illnesses or conditions, our in-home hospice care program focuses on ensuring their comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being through personalized attention and support.
3. Advocacy and Outreach: In addition to in-home foster and hospice care, we advocate for the welfare and healing of sick cats and kittens, raising awareness about their specific needs and working to connect them with loving homes whenever possible.

At Clowder 9 Ranch, we believe that every cat and kitten deserves the chance for a better and more dignified life, and we are committed to making that vision a reality. Whether they are found as strays suffering from illness or injury, are feral community cats that would benefit from being spayed or neutered and vaccinated, or those who need to be surrendered by their family due to the inability to provide the necessary care, every feline deserves care and compassion.
